Naoko-sensei wrote a little liner note at the end of the manga that says some really sweet things, and gives her fans a hint of her personality. (Her handwriting is, in my humble opinion, atrocious, so I have to give full credit to Alex Glover for his wonderful translation. Without his translation, I would never have been able to puzzle through it. I personally can't read a word she writes.)

Liner sketch Anyway. Apparently she wrote a lot of herself into this story; she calls herself a rain girl like Rena. She says that she really likes the rain and that it rained at her entrance and graduation ceremonies, and that if it's raining lightly, she likes to walk in the rain without an umbrella (like Kei in the story). She likes to drive in the rain as well. (Isn't that a bit dangerous though?)

On rainy days, she'll sit at home and gaze at the rain-drenched landscape ... and think of the one she loves. When she draws romance manga, she thinks of the one she loves... which is probably why her romance manga are so sweet, and her characters so real.

Then she lightens the mood by commenting that she fell in love with a pair of Italian shoes - but they were too expensive, so it was an unrequited love. ^_^ One of her friends also told her that Kei-kun looked like a snobby Italian jerk. ^^;;

Naoko-san ends the note by saying that Miss Rain is a story that she loves, packed with the things that she loves.
